Can I use a thermostat without a humidity sensor to control the ice and snow melting system?

It is possible if ETN4-1999 thermostat is used, which has only a temperature sensor. The low-power entrance ice and snow melting system can be controlled by a thermostat ETV-1991 with a temperature sensor, which set to the required temperature. Still, the power consumption will be higher compared to the thermostat ETR2-1550 with ground sensor ETOG-55.
